We apologise that there is a problem with a small batch of the 'Building for the Future' DVDs. The faulty dvds contain promotional material for a clothing firm, which we will raise with the duplicating company.

This painting by Gordon Henderson has been reproduced as a greetings card and print with all proceeds going to the Building for the Future fund.

St Silas' Presents a documentary film where the casting, filming, directing, sound engineering, special effects work and editing  were all carried out by our very own Graham Lynch.

Pledge Pack Almost Ready

The pledge pack detailing the plans, ways to give and ideas for fundraising is almost ready for distribution. Also included will be a DVD, filmed and produced by Graham Lynch of Deep River. The DVD features a film about the project as well as all the materials necessary to help us prayerfully decide how to give.

Launch of Building for the Future

Welcome to this blog, which will chronicle the building of a new hall for St Silas' Church, Glasgow.

Since 1999, the church leadership has been prayin and working towards the realisation of this project. There have been many obstacles on the way, but now planning permission has been received and we are ready to move ahead.

It remains for us to see £1.5 million released in giving and fundraising. We believe that this is possible, for we worship the God to whom belongs the 'cattle on a thousand hills' (Psalm 50:10).

From early on in the development of this project, in keeping with our sense of being called to give to world mission, we believed that we were being called 'to give as we get', so 10% of the total budget has been earmarked to support aid projects in the developing world.

The project launch takes place this weekend, with the following programme:

Friday 26th October 6pm-12am:  1/2  night of prayer in church. Come for as much or as little time as you can to commit  the whole project to  the Lord.

Sunday 28th October 11am and 6.30pm:  Services with sermon,  DVD presentation, 3D model of the new development (created for us by Amanda Campbell).

Monday 29th October 7.30pm: DVD presentation, 3D model of new development and question and answer session.

We hope that we will be able to go ahead with building work in the middle of 2008.
