Here, Oliver O'Donovan, the new Professor of Christian Ethics and Practical Theology at the University of Edinburgh, gives a most interesting analysis of some of the forces at work as well as the pastoral issues involved, in the issues facing the Anglican Communion.
While Prof O'Donovan and I would disagree theologically on some issues (he believes in Just War, I don't) he's a man I respect, and one who should be listened to carefully.
While studying for my honours I corresponded with him by email. He was under no obligation to respond but did so. In our short correspondence I found he was both gracious and more than helpful. The impression this left on me was that here’s a guy who is not only perusing his faith with academic vigour, but who is also seeking to humbly walk before his God.
